DiCon is in immediate need of a Firmware Engineer for our Firmware & Software group, to design, develop, and test firmware and embedded software. The position will focus primarily on firmware and embedded software for DiCon’s solid-state lighting products, although there may also be some related work for our optical communications products, including fiberoptic components, modules, and chassis-level systems for telecommunications, defense, and manufacturing test and measurement applications. These products incorporate DiCon’s leading-edge LED array and optical component technologies. The primary function for this position is to develop firmware that will control the functionality of these products, via a variety of user interfaces, including wireless device interfaces such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The position requires constant interfacing with HW and SW engineers, optical engineers, manufacturing engineers, QA engineers, field application engineers, and sales and marketing. The firmware engineer position will have responsibility for all aspects of firmware and embedded software development, including requirements specification, initial design, coding, debugging, and development of firmware test procedures. The position will also support manufacturing & QA with firmware upgrades, and support marketing and sales with requests for feature enhancements. The position is expected to maintain and support existing firmware and embedded software, and to develop a common library of firmware modules for frequently used functions.
